Clinical Team

KristinaKristina Stanson, PA-C
Physician Assistant

Kristina was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her Master of Medical Science from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and cheering for the Tar Heels.

JosephJoseph Lizotte, PA-C
Physician Assistant

Joseph is a native of North Carolina. He is a graduate of Campbell University’s Physician Assistant Program. Before attending PA school, Joseph spent 14 years working in the field of orthotics and prosthetics as a board certified Prosthetist. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from NC State University and then completed his prosthetic school training at California State University, Dominguez Hills. In his free time, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 boys, staying physically active, and being outdoors.

“As an ABC Certified Prosthetist-Orthotist, it is rare to focus 100% on any one particular type of device. I love that the Hey Clinic enables me to focus completely on scoliosis bracing and build relationships with my patients while helping to correct their curves in a state-of -the-art facility.”
KC grew up in Peekskill, NY where she always had a love of science and medicine. She attended Pace University in Pleasantville, NY where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then spent 5 years in Dallas TX, where she attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. There she received a second Bachelor of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. KC completed her residencies for both disciplines at the UNC Hospital Brace Shop in Chapel Hill, NC. She achieved certification in both Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2001. She currently lives in Fuquay-Varina and enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys.

AllieAllie Gordon

Allie graduated from Fuquay Varina High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. She has experience in EMS and loves traveling and spending time with her husband.

WillWill DeFoor
Medical Assistant

Will was born and raised in Garner, NC. He received his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from North Carolina State University, with a minor in Outdoor Leadership. Prior to working at the Hey Clinic, he worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Orthopaedic floor of Duke Raleigh Hospital, where many of Dr. Hey’s patients receive care after surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, taking his cat on walks, and enjoying time outdoors and in the backcountry.


Administrative Team

Office Manager

Sarah grew up in Durham, NC and graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Business Management. She started at Hey Clinic as an intern, and has cross covered many roles at our clinic which makes her an excellent office manager. Her focus on team communication, and quality goes right in line with Dr. Hey’s practice style. She enjoys the family dynamic that we’ve built at the Hey Clinic and being a facilitator to allow the clinic to run smoothly. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking and serving church.

Billing Manager

Jennifer grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and moved to North Carolina in 2004. Her background is in accounting, banking, and finance. Her degree is from Salt Lake City College. She has been fortunate to have worked with several doctors over the years and to now offer our patients the benefit of over a decade of experience in medical billing and coding. In her downtime she loves to travel, read, garden, and spend time with her husband and daughter.
Director of Education and Research
“I love being part of a system that helped my son. I love helping patients with practical advice and educating area providers on how we can help co-care for their patients.”
She has a degree in Marketing and Advertising. Since raising her children, she has held several positions in media both as Publisher of a local newspaper and in advertising sales. Wendy is able to bring a unique perspective to our office as she is a Mom of one of our patients. This helps us to consider the patient’s and caregiver’s needs when creating systems for our office. She handles other responsibilities as well such as education of local providers regarding spinal deformity and representing our office at conferences. She lives in Willow Springs and enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children.

Austin grew up in Durham, NC and graduated from UNC – Chapel Hill. He joined Hey Clinic as our programmer and is pro-active in solving issues with workflow or manipulation of the data we collect for each guest we see. He is a great addition to our clinic family and is great at understanding a co-workers requests and translating them into a technical solution. When he is not helping maintain and improve our systems he enjoys camping and canoeing for vacations.
