Scoliosis Curve Correction Brings Life Color

Blair Cotten struggled with daily activities like picking up her child. She would be exhausted simply walking to the park.

“I feel like I have life with color now where before life felt gray,” Blair said.

Blair developed scoliosis after pregnancy. The curve developed over a period of years. Her curve forced her to walk with one arm out and the feel the sensation of her ribs and hips touching which made walking difficult for her.

Her curve also effected her body image. There are studies about the association of negative body image with adolescent scoliosis patients. Blair did not want to draw attention to her children from her walking posture, so she never felt comfortable visiting her children to eat lunch with them at school.

Her chiropractor referred her to the Hey Clinic.

At first her surgery was canceled because of Covid regulations, but Hey Clinic staff scheduled her into another hospital to complete the surgery.

“I feel fantastic,” Blair said.
