Robotic-assisted surgery using ExcelsiusGPS®
During complex spinal surgeries, robotic-assistance is used to decrease surgical times and aid in implant placement.
How does ExcelsiusGPS®work?
Patient images are taken on the day of surgery and imported into the ExcelsiusGPS® and a customized surgical plan is created based on the patient’s anatomy. During surgery, the robotic arm is guided by the surgical plan to exact regions of the spine. This system uses similar technology to a driving route planned on a GPS. Using this planned route, the surgeon accurately places implants using instruments.
